The Frankfurt Tourist+Congress Board at the ITB Asia 2012

Frankfurt/Main (tcf). Asian markets are becoming more and more important to Frankfurt from a touristic point of view. China is now second only to the United States in terms of overall visitor numbers, with close to 55,000 guests having travelled to Frankfurt from the Middle Kingdom during the first half of 2012. Meanwhile, the number of Korean overnight visitors rose by an impressive 66 percent in July 2012 compared to the same period of the year prior. Various other far-eastern markets have also shown steady growth in recent times.

In order to promote further business growth in this region, the Frankfurt Tourist+Congress Board is expanding its activities on these future-oriented markets. The ITB Asia plays one of the most important roles in this endeavour. This year, the Frankfurt Tourist+Congress Board will be taking part in this high-profile show for the third time, presenting the many advantages of the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region at the combined Germany stand. The German Tourist Board, meanwhile, is participating in the ITB Asia for the fifth time. Held in Singapore, the ITB Asia is today the leading tourist fair and business-to-business platform in the Asia-Pacific region.
