Fly high with new Reef Adventure Flight
Now you can take off from the seaside town of Bowen to get high above the Great Barrier Reef on a 90-minute scenic flight with GSL Aviation.

The Bowen Reef Adventure takes in Gloucester Island National Park and onward to exclusive Hayman Island in the Whitsundays before heading over Bait Reef, Hook Reef and Hardy Reef, with Heart Reef easily visible from the aircraft.

Passengers will also soak up the views of stunning Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet before flying over Whitsunday Island, Daydream Island and the Molle Group on the way back to land.

Beer’s a-brewing on the Granite Belt
Queensland’s premier wine region is now catering for beer lovers with the launch of a new microbrewery in Stanthorpe.

The Granite Belt Brewery offers six locally brewed beers on tap including Kolsch, Pilsner, Wheat Beer, India Pale Ale, Irish Red Ale and a Porter, or if you can’t decide, try a tasting paddle with the full range of beers. 

Get a glimpse of the impressive 900-litre brewing tank from the viewing lounge in the adjoining Happy Valley Retreat Restaurant and Bar and when the hunger pains strike, grab a bite from their lunch or dinner menu, complete with beer-pairing suggestions.

New attractions blast onto the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast is now home to even more thrills and spills with the arrival of ‘Justice League 3D – The Ride’ at Movie World, and the ‘Constrictor’ at Wet’n’Wild, while the new ‘Seal Harbour’ will open at Sea World this December.

In Justice League 3D, riders will be taken on an interactive 3D experience, pitting their blasting skills again fellow gamers as they battle alien attack.

While up the road at Wet’n’Wild, the new semi-dark Constrictor slide will send thrillseekers twisting and through some of the highest banking turns in the world at speeds of up to 30 kilometres per hour.

Over at Sea World the playful seals and sea lions will steal the spotlight come December when the new multimillion-dollar Seal Harbour exhibit opens. Visitors will be able to get close to the action and even have the opportunity to hand feed the cheeky mammals.

Hamilton Island in your pocket
Hamilton Island has launched a new iPhone and iPad app, providing holidaymakers with a handy pocket guide to everything there is to see and do during their stay.

The app is free to download and includes shuttle bus and ferry timetables, live flight information, detailed maps with points of interest, facilities and retail spots, activity schedules and self-guided audio-tours.

While the app is currently only compatible with the iPhone and iPad, an Android version is also planned for release in the near future.
