Doors Open At Lend Lease’s Darling Quarter Theatre

Lend Lease’s Darling Quarter Theatre
The newest addition to Sydney’s Darling Quarter, the Lend Lease Theatre, is now open. The 236-seat theatre is the only purpose-built space for children in Australia. The theatre will complement the family-friendly facilities at Darling Quarter including the popular children’s playground and community green which opened last year.

The new arts venue is operated by Monkey Baa Theatre, the renowned children’s theatre company established in 1997. Monkey Baa provides opportunities for young people in the arts through high quality accessible theatre programming and interactive theatre experiences, and focuses on the adaptation of popular Australian children’s literature within the curriculum.

A collaborative effort between Lend Lease and Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, the $500 million Darling Quarter precinct comprises an international standard commercial office known as ‘Commonwealth Bank Place’ and a family/leisure precinct with extensive public amenity, including a vibrant retail food precinct, a world-class family playground which is one of Sydney’s largest at over 44,000 square metres, a community green, children’s theatre, and 600 bay public car park.
