New Tourism Attractions in Brusnwick Heads and Byron Bay

Byron Bay Farmstays, Mountain Bike Trail

Minister for the North Coast and Member for Ballina, Don Page, opened two new tourism attractions near Byron Bay and in Brunswick Heads earlier this week.  Byron Bay Farmstay has established a 2.5km mountain bike trail between Byron Bay and Bangalow, while Byron Eco Cruises and Kayaks launched their Eco Cruise and Kayaking Tour operating on the Brunswick River.

The mountain bike trail at Byron Bay Farmstay was designed and constructed with input from Mountain Biking Australia and is the only trail located on private land in the Northern Rivers.

After a successful trial period earlier this year, the advanced eco-tourism certified tours from Byron Eco Cruises and Kayaks are now operating daily. The kayak tours explore the natural beauty of Brunswick Heads and are suitable for all levels of experience. On-board display cards have also been translated into Mandarin and Japanese languages as part of the new offerings.

The two projects were part-funded through Destination NSW’s Regional Tourism Product Development Program in partnership with the newly formed Regional Tourism Organisation the North Coast Destination Network.

“These tours and attractions are a great boost to the experiences on offer for visitors to the Northern Rivers.” said Mr Page.

“The NSW Government is delighted to see funding cooperatively invested with tourism operators to help realise some very innovative projects”.
