Shizuoka / Sakura Ebi

Do not mistaken the reds for sakura petals. They are actually sakura ebi (cherry shrimps).

The shrimps are sun-dried for food in areas around the Fuji River after they are caught.

They eventually turn into the colour that reminds you of sakura.

Not only during spring can you catch this vivid view, but also in autumn!

The seas of dried sakura ebi have also become a traditional landscape in these areas in the Shizuoka Prefecture.
