Madame Tussauds Sydney has welcomed the wax figure of Korean entertainer Kim Hyun-joong to its display on Tuesday May 7.
Joining over 70 wax figures at the Darling Harbour attraction,
Hyun-joong’s wax figure will feature for a limited time only. The figure
will then make his way as a permanent resident to Madame Tussauds
Wuhan.
In 2005, the Korean star made his entertainment debut as a member of boy
band SS501, which made him a rising Korean superstar across Asia. He
released his solo debut in 2011, and topped Japan’s Oricon chart in the
International Imported Album category.
Hyun-joong’s wax figure was sculpted after he completed a sitting in
2012 and is wearing clothes personally donated from the star which he
wore on his 2012 tour of Asia.
Creating one wax figure isn’t an easy task, each wax figure takes around
800 hours with over 60 artists and sculptors involved in the process.
Kristy Enright, spokesperson at Madame Tussauds Sydney said “Kim
Hyun-joong’s achievements in the entertainment industry are revered
across Asia and we are delighted to welcome him to our attraction for
our guests to enjoy.”
