Don’s Tay Ho Among Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants

Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Deborah Chatsis has congratulated Don’s Tay Ho in Hanoi for being listed among Asia's 50 Best Restaurants in 2013 as well as for winning last March’s San Pellegrino Award in Singapore for Vietnam’s Best Restaurant.

He praised Don’s Tay Ho for introducing Hanoi to Canada’s unique culture and gastronomic arts.

Diners at the chef’s bistro can enjoy both local and foreign dishes, including Canadian Foie Gras, and Vietnamese banh xeo (sizzling fried pancakes made from rice flour, turmeric , and slivers of belly pork and shrimp) and banh cuon (steamed rice rolls).

The bistro’s owner, Donald Berger, was born in Montreal, Canada, and worked for a number of the region’s 5-star hotels before settling in Hanoi.

He has toured around Asia as a chef and participated in many official events, including some organised by the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam.
