Barlow Hotel
A Summer of Transformation in Wine Country

Sonoma County has long been a destination for wine lovers, nature seekers, and wellness enthusiasts—but this summer, its hotel scene is evolving in exciting new ways. From brand-new developments in artsy Sebastopol to the reimagining of an iconic mid-century resort, travellers can expect elevated stays that blend local character with contemporary comforts. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy in Sonoma County hospitality for Summer 2025.

The Barlow Hotel: Sebastopol’s New Luxury Landmark

In the heart of Sebastopol’s creative district, a new kind of boutique luxury is taking shape. The planned Barlow Hotel will offer 83 rooms thoughtfully designed for modern travellers who value both style and sustainability.

Once approved by the Sebastopol City Council, the hotel will feature standout amenities including a rooftop pool and café bar with panoramic views, a wellness-focused full-service spa, and a locally inspired restaurant and bar. Visitors can expect spaces curated for more than just sleeping—think boutique retail experiences, flexible event and meeting rooms, and a covered outdoor lounge for gatherings all year round.

In alignment with the city’s vision for revitalisation and eco-conscious growth, the Barlow Hotel is set to become a destination in itself. Construction is projected to begin in late 2025, with an anticipated opening in 2027.

Flamingo Resort & Spa: A Classic Reimagined with Hilton Style

Flamingo Resort & Spa

A beloved icon of Sonoma County, the Flamingo Resort & Spa is entering a new era as it officially joins the Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Located on 10 lush acres, the resort is known for its retro-modern architecture and laid-back sophistication. Now, under the management of Pyramid Global Hospitality and ownership of Palm House Hospitality, the Flamingo retains its charm while embracing the benefits of Hilton’s global presence.

Guests can now enjoy all the original features they’ve come to love—open-air pools, wellness offerings, live music, and local dining—alongside Hilton Honors rewards and a boutique experience tailored through the Tapestry brand. It’s a seamless blend of classic California cool and modern hotel innovation.

Whether you're planning a wine-soaked weekend, a restorative retreat, or a creative escape, Sonoma’s evolving hotel scene is designed to meet the moment—offering comfort, character, and a strong sense of place.
