TAT Inspires Local Wanderlust with New National Tourism Initiative

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a bold new campaign to reignite the spirit of local travel in 2025. Titled Grand Moment, this initiative is part of the broader Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 and aims to make domestic tourism more engaging, rewarding, and meaningful.

Focused on three heartfelt themes — Moment of Giving, Moment of Memory, and Moment of Miracle — the campaign introduces nine distinctive travel projects across the country, inviting Thai travellers to explore new places and return to old favourites with fresh eyes.

Moments That Matter: Travel with Heart and Purpose

The campaign’s three themes are designed to stir the emotional core of travel.

Moment of Giving encourages travellers to give — not just materially, but emotionally — whether to themselves, their loved ones, or local communities and ecosystems.
Moment of Memory inspires journeys that revisit meaningful destinations, reconnecting people with their personal histories.
Moment of Miracle captures Thailand’s awe-inspiring natural beauty and rare seasonal phenomena, highlighting the magic hidden in plain sight.

These concepts transform domestic travel from routine to remarkable, with a focus on authentic connection and long-lasting impact.

Exclusive Escape and Experience the Magic Lead the Way

Two of the campaign’s nine projects are already live.

Exclusive Escape offers premium travel experiences in partnership with top-tier lifestyle brands. Travellers can enjoy special privileges such as luxury hotel discounts through the Gother platform, exclusive rewards for KTC credit card holders, and indulgent extras like complimentary champagne for couples dining at Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort and Spa.

Meanwhile, Experience the Magic taps into nature’s own wonder. This project connects travellers with Thailand’s seasonal marvels, including glowing bioluminescent plankton in Chumphon and the ethereal pink sea of mist at Kew Mae Pan in Chiang Mai. As part of this effort, the Grand Moment Mystery Box offers surprise gifts to guests who check in at select hotels this August, turning a night’s stay into a delightful experience.

More Moments to Come

The remaining seven projects are set to launch from June onward, with offerings designed to appeal to a wide range of Thai travellers — from wellness seekers and adventure lovers to culture enthusiasts and family vacationers. Each initiative will reflect the campaign’s core values, aiming to deepen the emotional connection between people and place, while stimulating local economies and small businesses.

Reviving Domestic Travel, Strengthening the Nation

TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool emphasized the importance of local tourism as a pillar of long-term sustainability. She noted that while Thailand continues to draw international admiration, it is domestic travel that forms the backbone of the industry — circulating income, strengthening communities, and enhancing lives throughout the country.

With a target of 205 million domestic trips and 1.17 trillion Baht in revenue for 2025, the Grand Moment campaign represents a major push to empower Thai travellers to see their homeland not just as a destination, but as a shared legacy to explore, cherish, and support.
