Get ready for a Great British Christmas

The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner and Britain is getting prepared unlike any other. Across the nations, cities and towns will soon be buzzing with twinkling lights, cosy winter pop-ups and charming Christmas markets.

In London, spin your way around the ice at some of the city’s newest skating sites. Kensington Palace is preparing to open the UK’s largest outdoor ice rink alongside a festive fairground (featuring Fortnum & Mason) this November. London’s first indoor winter festival, Kingdom of Winter will also play host to a new indoor ice rink at ExCel London (8 Dec – 7 Jan). In Wales, kick start the festivities (and your Christmas shopping) at the Hay Festival Winter Weekend (23 – 26 Nov), where alongside literary events you'll also find a food festival and vintage fair. Or head to the Royal Welsh Winter Fair (27 - 28 Nov) for local Welsh produce, craft stalls and handmade Christmas gifts. Outside of the events, there’s plenty of festive fun in Wales to keep you busy all season long.
