In 2017, landscape artist Christopher Baker took his board-bound sketchbook to Cummingøya in the Norwegian Arctic.
It was late June, but temperatures could still fall to well below minus degrees centigrade with wind-chill, and Christopher had to work quickly before his paints froze.
The resulting exhibition, at the Osborne Studio Gallery, London, comprises one eightfoot work of Arctic subjects and a group from the sixty or more landscapes he made following his Cummingøya expedition.
The Cummingøya sketchbook, weighing some 23 kilos, contains Baker's expression of the rock, snow, ice and water that forms that forbidding ancient terrain.
The Osborne Studio Gallery, is located in Belgravia, London
