Greenwich+Docklands International Festival 2023, London

The annual Greenwich+Docklands International Festival is a 17-day free festival of outdoor theatre, performance and installation staged at various locations in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, East London and the City of London. The 2023 festival has the theme : Acts of Hope. 

Events include : 
 Loomaland’s Cygnus, a sound and light installation which sees animatronic swans perform on the Royal Victoria Dock
 Ancient Futures, which is Upswing and Unlimited Theatre’s’ inspired circus that blends circus, music and dance inspired by West African folklore
 Rodney Bell and Chloe Loftus’ aerial performance The Air Between Us
 Roza Moshtaghi’s dance duet Bouncing Narratives, performed on a raised trampoline at Canary Wharf.

There will also be the world premiere of The Architect which marks 30 years since the murder of Stephen Lawrence.

This is an ‘uplifting and hopeful production that invites audiences to board a London bus and take a life-affirming theatrical journey infused with the experiences of Black Londoners across the three decades since the murder of Stephen Lawrence in 1993’.

The Greenwich+Docklands International Festival has become the first UK festival to be awarded Platinum accessibility status by Attitude is Everything.

This is the highest accolade for improving access and inclusion at live events for deaf, disabled and neurodivergent audiences.

Greenwich Fair on 26 August 2023 will have a day of street arts, performance, games and circus for all ages at Greenwich Park and in Greenwich Town Centre.
