Entries closing soon for 2024 Toyota Star Maker Competition

There’s just one month until entries close for the iconic Toyota Star Maker competition, with rising country music artists urged to get their entries in for the 2024 event.

As the nation’s longest and most respected country music talent search, the Toyota Star Maker competition will see ten finalists selected and given the opportunity to perform at the grand final event at the 2024 Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth in January, where a winner will be crowned.

Toyota Star Maker Manager, Cheryl Brown says it is an opportunity for rising stars to take their career to the next level.

“Toyota Star Maker is more than performing on a huge stage, in front of a large audience.

“It is an opportunity for the winner to meet music industry leaders, learn, perform and grow as an artist.”

In its 44th year, Star Maker continues to provide a platform for recent winners like Kaylee Bell, Max Jackson and Blake O’Connor, as they kick-start their professional careers and follow in the footsteps of some of Star Maker’s most successful artists, including Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, Travis Collins, Beccy Cole, Samantha McClymont and Lyn Bowtell.

Since her win in January the 2023 Toyota Star Maker Loren Ryan has toured the country with Australian artist Urthboy and featured on children’s program Play School.

Loren has also travelled to and performed at the 50th CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee where she played on the Spotlight Stage andat the Sounds Australia Showcase, and is scheduled to perform at the EKKA in Brisbane, the Gympie Music Muster, Deni Ute Muster, Groundwater Country Music Festival, Savannah In The Round and Cruisin’ Country.

Last month, Loren released her first single Suddenly, a co-write with Melanie Dyer and Gavin Carfoot, and has announced her EP launch to be held in Tamworth at the 2024 Toyota Country Music Festival.

“The last six months have been a dream and absolute whirlwind,” said Loren.

“Since winning Star Maker I have achieved more than I ever thought possible.

“This has truly been one of the most unique and rewarding opportunities as an artist and I encourage anyone out there ready to take the next step to give it a go.”

The 2024 Toyota Star Maker winner will take home a $100K prize package including 12-months use of a brand new, fully-serviced Toyota motor vehicle and fuel card, thanks to Toyota Australia.

Artists wishing to enter must submit two original tracks, plus a list of their achievements and describe why they are ready to be the next winner. The top ten finalists will be announced later this year and will be invited to perform at the 2024 Toyota Star Maker Grand Final in Toyota Park on January 21, 2024 at the 52nd Tamworth Country Music Festival.

“For the winner, endless opportunities await,” said Cheryl.

“So if you’re an artist who’s determined and willing to put in the hard yards, then get your entry in.”
