One of Australia’s most unique running festivals is offering hundreds of dollars in prize money for a race known as the Cheetah Chase in Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
The Dubbo Stampede is the nation’s only running event that starts and finishes in a zoo , providing participants with a unique opportunity to race in proximity to the animals.
Catering from the tortoise through to the hare, the program includes a Dingo Dash, Cheetah Chase, Zebra Zoom and Rhino Ramble with distances ranging from five kilometres to a marathon.
Festival organisers are expecting a crowd of close to 3500 people to turn out for the 28 August event, delivering a wonderful boost to local restaurants, hotels and tourism attractions.
The Dubbo Stampede is proudly supported by Destination NSW through its Regional Flagship Events Program.
