From 15 – 20 September 2016, the People’s Committee of Yen Bai Province will organize Muong Lo Culture and Tourism Week 2016 in Nghia Lo Town, Yen Bai Province.
The event is in framework of tourism development cooperation of 8 Greater Northwest provinces to celebrate 45th anniversary of the establishment of Nghia Lo Town (October 08, 1971 – 2016), lure more visitors to Yen Bai and raise the public’s awareness of preserving cultural values.
During this week, various typical activities will take place such as competitions and performances of traditional sports at sports venues in Nghia Lo Town; Cultural Festival of Thai ethnic folk arts in the Northwest region; street performance “Colorful Northwest region” at Dien Bien Street, stadium of the town and 2 street stages; tasting foods at Pham Ngu Lao Street; shopping at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street; enjoying traditional cultural activities organized in Nghia Lo Town and Van Chan District; on-site tour guide competition; photo exhibition at the Memorial of President Ho Chi Minh…
The opening ceremony of Muong Lo Culture and Tourism Week 2016 will take place at 20h00 on 17 September at the stadium of Nghia Lo Town with typical Xoe dance performance of Thai ethnic people.
