Mantra Group Supports Earth Hour

Peppers Bluewater Resort Lake Tekapo
Mantra Group properties throughout Australia and New Zealand will once again join the worldwide Earth Hour movement on Saturday 31 March - a global campaign of turning off the lights for one hour to strengthen awareness for climate change.

From 8.30pm to 9.30pm, more than 60 Mantra Group hotels and resorts will turn off their lights and undertake other energy-saving measures, underscoring the group's dedication to environmental sustainability.

Peppers Beach Club & Spa at Palm Cove
This year, participating Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree properties will demonstrate their commitment through a series of energy saving initiatives such as extinguishing external feature lighting, switching off appliances in unoccupied rooms, dimming or turning off non-essential interior lighting and using candlelight in public areas such as restaurants and reception areas.

Guests are also encouraged to join in by turning off their room lights, televisions and other electronic devices at the time of check-in.

Many properties will also stage special Earth Hour awareness events. Highlights of this year's events include:
- Peppers Bluewater Resort at Lake Tekapo in New Zealand is making good use of the hour of darkness and holding a candlelight cocktail reception, candlelight happy hour and candlelit dinner at their onsite Rakinui Restaurant. The resort is also offering complimentary bike hire throughout the day.
- Peppers Beach Club & Spa at Palm Cove is holding a candlelit dinner at their onsite restaurant Lime & Pepper. The resort is also encouraging guests to toast the Earth Hour movement with a special Earth Hour cocktail.
