The five star luxury Sydney hotel, located in one of Sydney most iconic heritage buildings, welcomed guests and dignitaries following a multi-million dollar transformation earlier this year, to toast 20 years of the hotel's residence in the Sydney market.
The General Manager of Swissôtel Sydney, Matthew Talbot, opened the ceremony before Sarah Derry and Nathan Cox, Vice President Operations, NSW & ACT, spoke of the hotel's commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience, making its indelible mark on both the Sydney hotel and food and beverage landscape.
“For 20 years, the hotel has operated with excellence in Sydney and welcomed guests from around the world, with many different teams having contributed to the continuous evolution of the hotel who were always looking for ways to further enhance the experience for both our staff and guests,” said Mr Talbot. “I am proud of what we have achieved as brand and am looking forward to continuing to build on the hotel's excellent reputation, delivering on Swissôtel's promise of treating everyone as they wish to be treated, and remaining true to the company's Swiss heritage.”
In 2003, The Swissôtel was borne offering 359 contemporary guestrooms, increasing to 369 in 2016, with breathtaking views of the Sydney city skyline. Known for quality craftsmanship, vitality and rooted in Swiss hospitality traditions, the brand was founded in 1980 and today totals more than 30 hotels globally, with the brand highly recognised for its service delivery and diversity in design.
Mr Cox, from Accor noted on the day the great contribution M&L Hospitality have made in making the hotel a Sydney landmark, “I wholeheartedly commend the owners of Swissôtel Sydney, M&L Hospitality, for their exceptional management of the hotel. The hotel's impeccable reputation and remarkable journey is widely recognised, and what we've witnessed is testament to their unwavering commitment, visionary approach, and foresight. Guests toasted the 20 year milestone with a champagne tower as recognised Accor ALL – Accor Live Limitless loyalty guests, staff and dignitaries enjoyed the spectacle of sabrage before the hotel's resident pianist entertained the crowd for an afternoon of cocktails.
Accor Pacific CEO Sarah Derry also spoke of Swissôtel Sydney delivering “the ultimate in Swiss hospitality, renowned around the world, the Swissôtel brand is about vitality, imaginative design and how you live and see the world. The after party followed on in Arches on Market, a vast and glamorous foliage filled space, embracing nostalgic hospitality and old-school charm, reminiscent of the grand palm court bars of yesteryear.
