IDAHO

Idaho Night Sky CREDIT Visit Idaho
City of Rocks National Reserve became Idaho’s newest official International Dark Sky Park earlier this year. By day, this national park service site is a playground for rock climbers, outdoor adventure seekers and nature photographers. By night, it’s an out-of-this-world experience. The dark sky is so well preserved that visitors can experience the same night sky as the Shoshone people and pioneers on the historic California Trail centuries before. www.nps.gov/ciro Idaho has multiple destinations that host star parties in summer and winter:
• Bruneau Dunes State Park’s Observatory
• Lucky Peak State Park
• Idaho Falls Astronomy Society hosts a star party in Idaho Falls.
• The Sawtooth Botanical Garden hosts a dark sky dinner every month November-February on the full moon.
