MORE ARTISTS ANNOUNCED FOR 52ND TOYOTA COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL, TAMWORTH

The countdown is on to the nation’s largest live country music event, with organisers of the 2024 Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth announcing the second line up of ticketed shows for the 52nd event.

Additional artists performing in the nation’s country music capital in January include multi-Golden Guitar winners and ARIA nominated The Wolfe Brothers, who’ll be performing at the Longyard on 26 January, the iconic Daryl Braithwaite will perform at Blazes Showroom on 27 January. 2022 Toyota Star Maker Max Jackson will be at Moonshiner’s Honky Tonk Bar on 25 January. Aussie rocker Ian Moss will perform at the Longyard Hotel on 25 January, as will The Screaming Jets on 23 January. Tamworth local, Lane Pittman, who’s recently toured with Luke Combs, will be performing his only headline show at the Tamworth Hotel on 20 January. Multi-award winner Kate Ceberano will perform at the Longyard on 19 January, while alt-rock Melbourne outfit, KINGSWOOD will be at the Tamworth Hotel on 25 January. Golden Guitar winners, Luke O’Shea and Kevin Bennett will be performing together on 22 January at the DAG Sheep Station, while Alan Fletcher will also join TC Cassidy, Andy Penkow and Donella Water’s show at the Capitol Theatre.

 

Toyota Country Music Festival Manager, Barry Harley, says the 52nd event is shaping up to be another fantastic celebration, with something for every musical taste.

“With hundreds of artists from a variety of genres, and thousands of shows across the 10-days the Toyota Country Music Festival certainly has something for everyone to enjoy,” he said.

“We’re excited to welcome more fantastic artists to the 2024 line up and cannot wait to see fans and visitors in Tamworth in January.”

Beccy Cole has joined the line-up for the star-studded special event, Orchestral Country, at TRECC on Wednesday, 24 January. A highlight of the 2024 Toyota Tamworth Country Music Festival, this concert will feature some of Australia’s best country stars performing with a 30-piece orchestra. Other artists appearing in this once in a lifetime event are Adam Harvey, Fanny Lumsden, Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley, Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham, Amber Lawrence with two other special guests yet to be announced!

Other ticketed shows in 2024 include Tom Curtain, Vixens of Fall, Kelly Brouhaha, Hayley Jensen, Michael Carpenter and the Banks Brothers, Ash Grunwald, 8 Ball Aitken, Kevin Bennett and The Flood, Col Elliott, Katrina Burgoyne, Gavin Chatelier, Bryce Sainty, Darren Carr, Col Thomson, Tom Maxwell, Graham Rodger, The Louisiana Hayride Show, Homecoming with Lily Grace, The Songs and Stories of George Jones with Liam Kennedy-Clark, Women of Country with Lozz Benson, Balladeers on Darling including Anne Fraser, Jason Carruthers, Shelly Jones Band and Peter Smokie Dawson, the 2024 Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards, The Johnny Cash Tribute Show with West Texas Crude, Gunbarrel Highwaymen Final Tour with Reg Poole, Owen Blundell & Terry Gordonthe Luke Combs Tribute Show with Ross Webb & the Rusted TrackTravellin’ Still: The Songs of Slim Dusty with the Slim’s Touring Band & Pete Denahy, Keith Urban, Shania Twain and Bryan Adams Tribute Show with Craig Woodward and Ally Friendship, the 2024 Senior Academy Live, Manilla Community Choir and the ever popular Bush Poets Breakfast.

This follows an already star studded line up, including some of the country’s most accomplished artists, including Australasian Roll of Renown and ARIA Hall of Fame Inductee Kasey Chambers, most successful Golden Guitar winner of all time Troy Cassar-Daley, nine time Golden Guitar winner and ARIA nominated Adam Harvey, top 2023 Golden Guitar winners Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley, country icon Lee Kernaghan, multi-award winner Beccy Cole, 2023 Toyota Album of the Year and ARIA award winner Casey Barnes, eight time Golden Guitar and ARIA award winner Fanny Lumsden, 2023 Female Artist of the Year Amber Lawrence, country music legend John Williamson, the accomplished Graeme Connors, who will celebrate 50-years in the industry in 2024, 2023 Male Artist of the Year Andrew Swift, 2023 Golden Guitar winner Ashleigh Dallas, 2023 Toyota Star Maker winner Loren Ryan, the popular duo of Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham, as well as multi-award winning artist Shane Nicholson and country music icon Melinda SchneiderPlus, country music’s night of nights, the prestigious Toyota Golden Guitar Awards, which will be held on Saturday 27 January at the Tamworth Entertainment and Conference Centre (TRECC). The 2024 awards will be hosted by multi-Golden Guitar Award winner and ARIA nominated, Tania Kernaghan and 2014 Golden Guitar Award nominee Jason Owen.

 

Meanwhile, up and coming artists looking to claim their spot on the Boulevard of Dreams, along the infamous Peel Street, can enter the 2024 Toyota Country Music Busking Championships, with registrations now open.

Toyota Country Music Festival organisers are encouraging buskers of any age to register for the highly popular competition.

“The Toyota Busking Championships are one of the most iconic parts of the Tamworth Country Music Festival and where some of the biggest names in the country music industry got their start, including Keith Urban and Troy Cassar-Daley,” said Mr Harley.

“The top ten buskers from across the 10-days, as selected by the judges, will be invited to perform in the 2024 Best of the Buskers concert on Sunday, 28 January in Toyota Park, where there will be plenty of prizes up for grabs.” 

The 52nd Toyota Tamworth Country Music Festival will kick off on 19 January 2024 with the Opening Concert in Toyota Park – the Festival’s largest venue, featuring a selection of winners from 2023 including Amber Lawrence, Andrew Swift, Lyn Bowtell, Luke O’Shea, Loren Ryan and Lane Pittman, plus many more, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display.  Toyota Park will play host to free entertainment every night of the Festival including long time favourites Toyota Star Maker Grand FinalAmericana in the Park, Back to the Bush, Australia Day Celebrations and Toyota’s Best of the Buskers.

 

Toyota Australia, Chief Marketing Officer, Vin Naidoo said it’s an honour for Toyota to support such a talented line up of artists from Australia.

“We continue to encourage up and coming artists to register for the Toyota Busking Championships. Each year the talent that’s displayed continues to impress, with the competition being a springboard for many on the lineup seen today.”

The Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth has also been named as a finalist in the 2023 NSW Tourism Awards. Nominated in the Major Festivals and Events category, winners will be announced in Sydney on 8 November.
