Flash Camp Coolendel Welcomes Back Campers to the NSW South Coast

Flash Camp
Flash Camp, Australia’s leading provider of temporary luxury camping accommodation, is reopening to customers once again after battling both the devastating bushfires in early 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic.

The site is reopened from today, with two Covid-compliant camps on the Upper Shoalhaven River. Whether you’re looking for an adventure-packed weekend away or just looking to escape the city, Flash Camp is the perfect destination.

“The team at Flash Camp are thrilled to be back open for business and welcoming campers back to the region,” says Ben Hutchings, General Manager, Flash Camp South Coast. “2020 hasn’t been easy to say the least. The bushfires pretty much destroyed the campsite and just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, like others we’ve had to deal with the effects of Covid-19.”

“But like so many other businesses across Australia we’ve dug deep and rebuilt. While these are scary times for everyone, we’re excited to open our doors at a time when Aussies need us the most.”

Located in Coolendel, Flash Camp is just three hours’ drive from Sydney. Couples, families and groups capped in line with Covid-19 restrictions can enjoy leaving behind the hustle of the city and take in the great outdoors with a range of activities.

The two camps, located on the South Coast hinterland are:
  • Camp Hollow, which consists of six spacious 6m diameter bell tents, perfect for individual bookings
  • Camp Nest, also with six bell tents of the same spec, but geared more toward (and reserved for) small groups

Both camps have their own communal areas and cooking facilities.

“The sites are looking spectacular once again! Following the bushfires, we were fortunate enough to see substantial rain across the region, which has led to the bushland starting to rejuvenate and come back to life, so everything is beautiful, green and lush,” added Hutchings.

Flash Camp
In the current climate, space and distance are key to ensuring Covid-19 safety. Flash Camp is spread out across 5 acres, with plenty of fresh air, making it easier for travellers to enjoy a holiday away but also maintain Covid-19 safety measures.

Camper’s days can be as relaxed or adventure-filled as they desire, with a range of activities such as fishing, hiking, canoeing and mountain biking just a stone's throw away. Guests can wind down by watching the sunset by the campfire or star gazing at night.

Coolendel is ideal for couples and small groups of friends; the camps also lend themselves to small weddings, wellness retreats, corporate groups and special events. The campsite is unhosted, meaning optimum privacy. Guests just need to bring food and drink; everything else is provided, including:
  • Bell tent, real mattresses, pillows, doona and sheet sets for confirmed guests
  • Internal solar lighting and external solar puff light
  • Shampoo, conditioner & body wash
  • Two director's chairs and a square table
  • Clothes rack
  • Custom made campfire brazier with flat plate grill
  • Glasses, mugs, cutlery, plates, napkins
  • Esky/cooler
  • Sunshade

Bookings are now open for mid-August onwards, making for a perfect trip for the September school holidays or a weekend getaway.
