The World's Most Famous Michelin-Starred Dim Sum Comes to Irvine

With nearly 40% of its population being Asian, Irvine offers foodies true global cuisine, with a wide selection of delicacies from China, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam and other distant shores.

Tim Ho Wan, the self-described “cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant,” where nothing on the paper mat menu is priced over $6, opened at Diamond Jamboree. What began 10 years ago as a humble, 20-seat restaurant in Hong Kong, has become a worldwide sensation known for authentic Cantonese dim sum in modern, convivial surroundings. Founded by chefs Mak Kwai Pui and Leung Fai Keung, the restaurant features handmade to order specialties including, steamed shrimp dumplings, baked BBQ pork buns, sticky rice in Lotus leaf, and more. The 129-seat restaurant will be the first in the U.S. to offer a takeout window, in addition to full service.

Several restaurants that originated in Asia's Pacific Rim can be found at Diamond Jamboree, a unique Southern California retail destination that brings together a variety of cuisines and international flavors. Three such restaurants include; Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle, Jinmen, Taiwan and 85°C Bakery, Bao-Ping, Taipei, and Curry House CoCo Ichibanya, Nagoya, Japan. Add to the mix Tokyo Table, a chic Japanese fusion eatery that draws a bustling crowd with classic plates and unusual specialties in an innovative setting.

Specializing in coffee, cakes, and breads, 85°C Bakery, a Taiwanese chain of coffee shops, opened in Irvine in 2009 as the first U.S. store. Why 85°C? It is the ideal temperature to drink coffee. Their most popular beverage is the Sea Salt Coffee - slightly sweetened iced coffee topped with creamy foam whipped with sea salt, with semi-sweet chocolate powder sprinkled over the top of foam.

Just Announced
Diamond Jamboree's Phase 2 Shopping Center Expansion. The new project will be located at Millikan and Alton and our groundbreaking is scheduled for early 2019. The goal is to attract exceptional retailers and restaurateurs to complement the existing destination worthy businesses. The project is anticipated to complete in 2020.

$200 Million Reinvested Into Irvine Spectrum Center
Continuing through 2019, Irvine Spectrum Center will welcome a total of 30 new stores and restaurants located throughout four brand-new buildings. In addition, the $200-million reinvestment is ushering in a wide array of new and enhanced outdoor spaces and amenities, including courtyards and rolling lawns, beautiful trees and lush landscaping, and seating areas.

And the center's young visitors can enjoy Luckey Climber, a unique climbing structure that is part-jungle gym and part-work of art. Designed by Spencer Luckey, a graduate of the Yale School of Architecture, the sculpture is the company's largest free-standing outdoor climber to date, standing at 18' tall, 50' long and 18' wide. The sculpture is filled with 75 rotationally molded plastic platforms in bright colors to challenge kids of all ages to climb, problem-solve and think spatially while also engaging with other kids.

· H&M, a new Southern California flagship store.
· Gorjana, locally designed, beautiful jewelry inspired by Southern California's lifestyle.
· Falasophy, a modern Lebanese street-food kitchen that traces its roots to 2014 as a Southern California food truck.
· Robata Wasa, an elegant, high-quality Japanese cuisine and sushi restaurant.

Hello Kitty Grand Café
The first cafe of its kind in the U.S., offering a menu featuring freshly baked cakes, cookies, donuts, seasonal goodies, and handmade hot and iced drinks along with a sweet seating area to enjoy the experience. Look for The Bow Room, a hidden pink oasis, for afternoon tea or evening cocktail service.

What Was Good is Now Great
The centerpiece of the new Orange County Great Park Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art championship soccer stadium featuring seating for 2,500 spectators. The complex also includes 24 soccer fields, including eight lighted artificial turf “flex fields which can also be used for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, cricket, and football. In addition, the complex features a championship tennis court with seating for 132 spectators with 24 additional lighted courts and a championship volleyball court with seating for 178 spectators and four additional lighted courts. There is also a one-acre children's play area that is perfect for smaller, less competitive players.

The 194-acre Sports Park includes baseball and softball stadiums with 10 ball diamonds, trails, and a wildlife corridor.

In addition, there is a 280,000-square-foot ice facility featuring three National Hockey League standard ice rinks and one Olympic size, including a 2.500-seat arena.

The Sports Park is on track to become one of the largest public multisport facilities in California and one of the largest in the United States.

FivePoint Amphitheatre Brings Live Music Back to Irvine
The new 12,000-seat FivePoint Amphitheatre replaces the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater which closed in October 2016, after 36 years of entertaining music fans. The spirit, the vibe of the former amphitheater is present at FivePoint, as music fans walk in they pass under a familiar archway, that was salvaged from Irvine Meadows and serves as the connection from the past to the future.

Immediately upon entry to the venue, guests are ushered into a wide, grassy concessions area featuring an array of craft beer, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as food from local eateries. The amphitheater has three sets of bleachers with 6,500 individual fold-down seats, including the 280 seats located within the VIP box area.

It is the first brand new amphitheater to be built in Orange County since the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa opened in 1983 and the first to be constructed in Southern California since Mattress Firm Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, which opened in 1998.

Orange County's Only Professional Soccer Team Calls Irvine Home
Orange County Soccer Club is Orange County's only professional soccer team and official affiliate partner of the Los Angeles Football Club of Major League Soccer. Orange County SC is a part of the United Soccer League, the fastest growing Division II professional soccer league in the world comprised of 34+ teams across the United States.

The team plays their home games at the Orange County Great Park's Championship Soccer Stadium. Nestled right in the heart of the Great Park, the Championship Soccer Stadium has a capacity of over 5,000 for Orange County SC matches.
