The spectacular beauty of Sydney will be captured through the lens of photographer Mario Testino, who will visit Sydney in January for a series of exclusive photo shoots for Vogue Australia and Destination NSW. NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said securing one of the world’s most in-demand photographers was a major coup for Sydney.“Mario Testino is one of the most celebrated photographers, creating images that are as iconic as the man himself. His prolific photography continues to be highly sought after by celebrities, designers and royalty and now Mario Testino will turn his attention to our great city,” Mr Ayres said.
“The NSW Government through Destination NSW is proud to partner with Vogue Australia to bring Mario Testino to Sydney to shoot exclusive content for Vogue’s April issue. With an incredible international following, Mario Testino’s visit will generate worldwide exposure for Sydney and NSW.”
Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann said, “Mario Testino is without question the most renowned fashion photographer of our time and the April issue of Vogue Australia promises to be the biggest issue to date featuring not only some of the country’s brightest and finest talent across all walks of life, but some of Sydney's most iconic locations. It will be an incredible homage to Australia and to have Mario shoot a special dedicated issue for Vogue Australia is certainly a career highlight for me.”
Mario Testino OBE is widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential fashion and portrait photographers of our times. He is known not only for his portraits of celebrities and royalty including Diana, Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and for his work with the world’s biggest fashion houses including Burberry, Gucci and Versace but also his continued support of the arts community.
