Melbourne Star Shines in Beijing

The Melbourne Star shone at a recent Air China event held November 20 - 22, 2015, alongside Tourism Victoria, Destination NSW and Tourism Australia.

The Star was represented at the event through its newly appointed in-China Market representation company, The Parker Collection.

Melbourne Star General Manager, Mr Garren Cox said the Star has already started to reap the rewards since the appointment of the Parker Collection in August.

“The team at The Parker Collection have welcomed Melbourne Star into the fold and we're already seeing the impact of their representation in our visitor numbers out of China,” said Mr Cox

“It's great for the Star to have the Parker Collection team on the ground in China, interfacing with the local tourism trade.

“The Parker Collection has offices in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, and is well placed to represent the Melbourne Star across the vast market that is China. Parker Collection is providing Melbourne Star with a wealth of market experience and market intelligence that will position the Melbourne Star well within this market,” he said.

The Parker Collection's Managing Director, Mr Todd Parker said the company was pleased to represent the only giant observation wheel in the Southern Hemisphere.

“We look forward to a successful partnership that brings many more Chinese visitors to Australia, Victoria and the Melbourne Star,” he said.

The Melbourne Star, owned by Sanoyas Rides Australia Pty Ltd, is the only giant observation wheel in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Melbourne Star is open 10am – 10pm daily, except Christmas Day and Anzac Day, 1pm – 10pm.
