Slim Dusty Centre

• The Slim Dusty Centre has official opened in his home town of Kempsey. The cultural attraction celebrates the life of the Australian icon and is home to a visitor information centre, exhibition gallery, Dusty’s Dinner Camp Café and a merchandise store with unique Slim Dusty gifts 
• FlyPelican has announced plans to fly from Newcastle to Ballina from 8 December with daily return services Monday to Saturday, pending regulatory approval. The flight time is just one hour and 20 minutes and fares are expected to start from $99 including taxes
• Visitors to Barangaroo Reserve, Sydney’s new headland park, will soon be able to connect with the world’s oldest living culture through Barangaroo's Aboriginal Cultural Tour Program. Developed by renowned educator Clarence Slockee, who has joined the Authority as Team Leader, Visitor Services, the guided tours will provide an in-depth explanation of the Indigenous history of Sydney Harbour and surrounds, the cultural significance of the site, and the various flora and fauna within the park 
• The Big Banana Waterpark is now officially open and ready for action as the weather heats up. The waterpark features four large slides, as well as a children’s splash and play area so the whole family can join in the fun. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a visit to a banana plantation, toboganning, mini golf and laser tag 
• A renaissance is underway in Central NSW as historic buildings and laneways are being re-born with cafes, wine-bars and boutique accommodation. Some of the best transformations include Orange’s Black Sheep Inn, Bathurst’s Church Bar & Woodfired Pizza and Cowra’s The Mill at Windowrie Estate. The region, which begins just 2.5 hours from Sydney, has some of the best, well-preserved buildings in NSW, complete with fascinating stories, unique architecture and old world charm
• Regional Express (REX) will commence return flights from Sydney to Snowy Mountains Aiport (Cooma) from 23 March 2016. Bookings are now open
• Throughout Summer, Sydney Harbour Federation Trust is adding Saturday tours to its popular North Fort Tour, which currently runs every Sunday at North Head Sanctuary in Manly. The new Saturday tours run from now until the end of February 2016. Visitors will be guided through the fort’s fascinating maze of tunnels, magazine, engine room, pump chambers and gun emplacements and learn how North Fort was integral to Sydney’s defence during World War II.
