Vivid Sydney harbour boat lights

This year Vivid Sydney – plans to light up the Harbour itself – more specifically, the vessels large and small which throng the Harbour during the Festival.

In collaboration with 32 Hundred Lighting, Vivid Sydney have developed a system to not only decorate every kind of vessel with brilliant, colour- changing lights – but also to have all the lights change colour simultaneously as the vessels enter designated harbour precincts.

The precinct borders and the colours themselves are controlled by pre- programmed GPS- enabled computerised SAT/NAV lighting kits.

The lights are a new product called LED Tape, which is ten times brighter than Rope-Light. The spectacle of all these boats changing colour together will not only rival what’s happening onshore, but will also be a part of Vivid’s dazzling nightly show.
