Visit USA Expo Exhibitors Came to Australia in Record Numbers

This year the Visit USA Expos welcomed over 60 USA exhibitors and over 20 local exhibitors. Visit USA Expos have been running continuously for 20 years and this year was the largest contingency to ever have travelled to our shores.

The exhibitors were keen to share their knowledge, passion and enthusiasm of their destinations and products with over 1200 agents throughout Australia.

“As a first time participant, this series of Visit USA Expos was a great introduction to the Australian market. I appreciated the professionalism and high energy brought by the organizers and the attendees. The quality of the agents attending the Expos and the B2B exceeded my expectations,” said Julie Saupe of Visit Anchorage.

Molly Tomita of Hilton Anaheim said “I think overall the week’s activities are very productive and to have contact with so many agents and get exposure has been wonderful. Visit USA organises the event so well and the program is great.”

“We could not put on such successful shows without the exhibitors coming to market and the commitment and enthusiasm of the volunteer Expo committee”, said Sherilyn Robinson, Vice President Visit USA.

This year was the first time that Brand USA sponsored and hosted the Visit USA B2B component of the Expos. These one on one appointments are always well supported and both the buyers and the sellers always look forward to this event in the program. This year the event took place at Centennial Park and there were plenty of opportunity for all attendees to interact on an informal basis.

The Visit USA Media Marketplace and lunch was well attended by over 180 people, 95 of them our key journalists. United Airlines sponsored the Media event and Matt Miller, Managing Director Asia Pacific Sales of United Airlines shared their news on the new 787 flights Melbourne to Los Angeles and upgrade of aircraft on the Sydney route.

Newly appointed US Consul General Hugo Llorens welcomed the guests and highlighted that 1.19 million Australians visited the USA last year.
