Shangri-La Hotels offers exclusive urban garden wedding facilities

Offering more than an urban setting, the decked Roof Garden at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong is the only venue of its kind in the city. Hidden high above the city on level 56 of the hotel, this little-known enclave is surrounded by cascading greenery and the verdant heights of Victoria Peak. The split-level venue, measuring a cosy 148 square metres, can be reserved for solemnisations with a dinner in either the hotel’s ballroom or Atrium rooms.

Privileges with the Roof Garden package – starting at HK$70,000 for two hour’s use – include unlimited servings of selected beverages, a round of champagne and canapés.

When it comes to happily ever after, the tropical allure of Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore appeals to couples. At the property’s 80-square-metre Banyan Deck, a newly built venue, a canopy of towering trees provides privacy and shade during a ceremony or reception. Made from Malaysian Balau wood using traditional carpentry that does not require nails or screw joints, the deck is distinctively designed with two separate levels to hold 60 guests, while three-metre tall antique brass lamp posts add a touch of nostalgia.

Priced from S$98 per person for a tea reception, the hotel will decorate the Banyan Deck with fresh flowers and provide a bottle of champagne for the toasting ceremony, as well as gift a one night stay in a Deluxe Room, in the newly refurbished Garden Wing, with amenities and breakfast.

Tying the knot in Jakarta is a chance to be in Indonesia’s bustling capital. Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta’s Poolside Garden, located on level one of the property, is a lush and charming venue for nuptials under the stars or a marquee, catering to gatherings of up to 500 guests.

Included in the hotel’s Poolside Garden wedding package – priced from Rp488,000 per person – are such benefits as a pre-event menu tasting of the dinner buffet; a five-tier wedding cake; one night in the Bridal Suite for the wedded couple with a personal butler to arrange breakfast; a one hour Balinese massage at CHI, The Spa; and privileged room rates for family and friends attending the happy day.

Weddings on the manicured lawn at Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel, New Delhi will rival most Bollywood film sets. Large enough to accommodate 400 guests with a stage setup, the venue can provide couples an elaborate dinner prepared by culinary professionals.

In addition to exchanging garlands and rings, newlyweds can begin the evening’s celebrations with hors d’oeuvres at a pre-dinner cocktail and end the night in the hotel’s Executive Suite with breakfast in the morning followed by a holistic treatment at the standout spa. A garden wedding is priced from Rs3,200 per person.

Exchanging vows in the natural beauty of Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns in Australia is ideal for those who want to be close to nature. A stunning seascape of azure waters beautifully complements the hotel’s garden that is sheltered by swaying palms and other indigenous trees, creating a visually unique locale for intimate nuptials or setting the scene for toasts to new beginnings.
