Whitsunday Escape Awarded Australia's Best

Whitsunday Escape has won Gold for best Unique Accommodation at the 2013 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards held at Luna Park in Sydney on Friday, 7 February.

The bareboat charter company has been recognised for their outstanding contribution to Australia's tourism industry and their dedication to providing excellent tourism experiences in the Whitsundays.

Whitsunday Escape Managing Director Trevor Rees said he is thrilled for Whitsunday Escape, for the industry and for the Whitsundays.

"It is really great that the skipper-yourself bareboat charter industry is recognised in the Whitsundays and winning the award is a great promotion for our industry and the Whitsunday area,"

"Whitsunday Escape has won many awards over the years for the commitment to ongoing excellence but winning the Australian Tourism Award is a big one," Mr Rees concluded.

Whitsundays Marketing and Development Limited Acting Chief Executive Officer Daryl Hudson said he is thrilled that Whitsunday Escape took home the award.

"Winning the 2013 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards is a terrific result for the Whitsundays and I would like to congratulate the team at Whitsunday Escape," Mr Hudson said.

"I am proud that Whitsunday Escape has been recognized for their commitment and passion on a national level,"

"Whitsundays Escape has a firm spot in the Whitsundays' tourism industry and through the hard work and commitment the company continues to deliver phenomenal experiences," Mr Hudson concluded.

In total, eleven Queensland operators were awarded for their outstanding contribution.
