Qantas in partnership with Arnott’s Tim Tam has helped the outback Queensland town of Winton experience the region’s biggest reunion ever.
The homecoming event marked the beginning of a partnership between Qantas and Arnott’s Tim Tam in celebration of the iconic biscuit’s 50th birthday and a ‘year of togetherness’.
Qantas Executive Manager Samantha Taranto said the airline was pleased to partner with Arnott’s Tim Tam to reconnect the town of Winton with loved ones from around Australia and as far away as the UK.
“We are thrilled that this partnership brings together two iconic Australian brands to reunite friends and families from around the globe,” she said.
“Today’s event in Winton highlights the happy reunions between loved ones that happen around the world every day when people step off a Qantas aircraft,” added Ms Taranto.
Friends and families were flown on a special QantasLink charter flight in Arnott’s Tim Tam livery from Brisbane to Winton.
Qantas was established in Winton in 1921. Qantas moved its operations to Longreach, two hours North West of Longreach shortly after, which is where the Qantas Founders Museum and the airline’s first hangar is located.
Next month, as part of the biscuit’s 50th Anniversary, Arnott’s and Qantas will be giving Australians the chance to reconnect with someone they love anywhere in the world via the ‘50 flights in 50 days’ on-pack promotion.
Qantas will also offer Tim Tam biscuits to customers on board its domestic flights from 12 March for several months.
