Allphones Arena in Sydney Named 11th Top Grossing Venue in World

Last year was a stellar year for Allphones Arena in Sydney, which was confirmed today with the news that it hosted 7 out of Pollstar’s 2013 Top 10 Highest Grossing Worldwide Tours.

The venue also came in 11th in the industry bible’s 2013 Year End Worldwide Venue Ticket Sales.

In 2013 alone, Allphones Arena hosted 29 separate events including sell-out shows from Beyoncé (4 shows), P!nk (4 shows), Justin Bieber (2 shows), Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (3 shows), Rihanna, Cirque de Soleil – Michael Jackson: The Immortal (6 shows) and One Direction (7 shows) and 2014 is already shaping up to outperform the venue’s previous records.

In the coming months, Allphones Arena will also host shows from a plethora of superstar acts who also made the 2013 Pollstar Top 50 list including The Rolling Stones (25 March), Bruno Mars (10 and 11 March), Michael Bublé (9, 10, 16 and 17 March) and John Mayer (24 April).

And the entertainment doesn’t stop there. The venue will also play host to a wide variety of events in the coming months including Mrs Browns Boys (1, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 March), Lionel Richie and John Farnham (13 March), Toby Keith (18 March), Jay Chou (11 April), Nitro Circus Live (23 May), Keith Urban (21 & 22 June) as well as International Ice Hockey (26 July), WWE (8 August) and NSW Swifts Netball (18 May).

Allphones Arena’s General Manager, Guy Ngata, said: “Allphones Arena had a phenomenal year in 2013 as reflected by the fantastic 11th position achieved in Pollstar’s Year End Worldwide Venue Ticket Sales. Having hosted seven of the world’s 10 Highest Grossing Worldwide tours just goes to show the calibre of events we have coming to Allphones Arena.

“Our goal in 2014 is to rank in the world’s top 10 venues. Given the acts we have coming this year we are confident of achieving this.”
