Indian tourists will now be able to get visa on arrival in Egypt as part of Egypt Tourism Ministry’s “One Million India Tourists’ initiative. According to reports, Hesham Zaazou, Egyptian Minister for Tourism signed an MoU with Indian tour operators recently in order to promote tourism in Egypt.
There’s also good news for Indian tourists willing to travel to Egypt. Egypt’s national carrier, Egypt Air will be launching direct flights from New Delhi to Cairo. Tour operators who are a part of this initiative include Thomas Cook, Cox & Kings, Akbar Travels and Mercury Travels.
“We are aware that there are security concerns about visiting Egypt. But we would like the world to know that our troubles are our own. The tourist has never been a target,” Zaazou told journalists.
The main goal of this initiative is to bring one million Indian tourists to Egypt in the next three years.
