20-year-old Angeli Dione Gomez from Philippines looked ecstatic after she was announced as the winner of Miss Tourism International 2013/2014. “The first thing I plan to do is to meet my family whom I have not met for about one month and have a nice breakfast with them tomorrow,” she told reporters.
As the winner of the much prestigious award, henceforth she will be travelling as a goodwill ambassador to spread the message of universal peace and friendship.
Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Minsister of Tourism and Culture Minister said the ministry would whole heartedly support the pageant in her endeavors. He also said that she will play a pivotal role in accentuating the tourism industry. “The wheels have already been set in motion with the public and private sectors doing their utmost best to promote the country to local and overseas visitors.
