The Agency of the Year Awards 2025 Australia/New Zealand have officially revealed this year’s winners, recognising the exceptional agencies and individuals shaping the future of marketing communications. From bold creative thinking to breakthrough digital innovation, these awards highlight the region’s most influential leaders and high-performing teams. This year’s results showcase the agencies driving forward ideas, culture, and cutting-edge strategies in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Creative Agencies Setting New Standards

The Creative Agency of the Year categories acknowledged outstanding work across Australia and New Zealand. In Australia, Special claimed Gold for its inventive, culturally attuned campaigns. Howatson+Company secured Silver, while Leo Australia achieved Bronze. Across the Tasman, TBWA\New Zealand captured Gold, Motion Sickness earned Silver, and Special added a Bronze to its trans-Tasman accolades.

Innovation Drives the Digital Sector

Digital Innovation Agency of the Year winners reflected the growing importance of technology-led storytelling. OMD took Gold in Australia, followed by Plus Also Studios with Silver and Digitas with Bronze. In New Zealand, DDB Group Aotearoa won Gold, with PHD Aotearoa receiving Silver for its forward-thinking digital solutions.

Media Excellence Recognised Across the Region

PHD Australia was awarded Gold for Australia Media Agency of the Year, with Howatson+Company and OMD securing Silver and Bronze respectively. In New Zealand, OMD New Zealand took Gold, PHD Aotearoa won Silver, and Lassoo Media completed the category with Bronze.

Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships Highlighted

Herd MSL won Australia PR Agency of the Year, followed by Eleven and HAVAS Red. In New Zealand, Special earned Gold for PR excellence. Strategic partnerships were also honoured, with Special and Uber taking home Gold for Australia/New Zealand Agency Marketer Partnership of the Year.

Industry Culture, Workplace Excellence, and Boutique Success

Howatson+Company was recognised for Best Culture of the Year, while Akcelo received Best Place to Work of the Year. Boutique Agency of the Year was awarded to Motion Sickness, showcasing the powerful creative output driven by smaller, agile teams across the region.

Specialist Strengths and Sector-Leading Expertise

Awards this year also highlighted successes in specialist categories. WiredCo. claimed Gold for Content Marketing Agency of the Year and Social Media Agency of the Year, while Special won Gold for Integrated Marketing Agency of the Year. Digitas earned multiple honours across customer engagement and e-commerce categories, reflecting their expansive capability set.

Market research excellence was led by Fiftyfive5 with Gold, followed by Honeycomb Strategy and TRA. Acquire took Gold for Programmatic Agency of the Year, while Thompson Spencer secured top honours for Influencer Marketing and Social Media in New Zealand.

A Spotlight on Performance, Production, and Brand Experience

Crystal Marketing and Jaywing Australia received awards for Performance Agency of the Year, while Plus Also Studios gained recognition in Production. Akcelo earned Gold for Brand Experience Agency of the Year, with Amplify awarded Silver.

CSR achievements were also celebrated, with Publicis Groupe ANZ winning Gold and dentsu Aotearoa taking Silver, reinforcing the growing importance of responsible and community-focused marketing.
