The Canary Island of Fuerteventura |
The island's desert landscape will be used for filming in 2023 following parts of Solo: A Star Wars Story, also filmed on Fuerteventura.
The Canary Islands are a Spanish archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, consisting of the eight islands of Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera and La Graciosa.
The island’s offers an average temperature of 19 °C in winter and 23 °C in summer.
The diverse landscapes of the Canary Islands range from the lunar landscapes of Lanzarote, mountainous Tenerife and the dunes of Gran Canaria to the rainforests of El Hierro and La Gomera.
The archipelago is also a top destination for elite athletes and for those looking for experiences with elements of sports such as golf, cycling, climbing, sailing, surfing and diving.
In 2022 Canary Island Film recorded 164 productions shot on the islands, including films, series, documentaries and short films.
Filming will also soon begin on the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in the Teide National Park on Tenerife.
