UPCOMING EVENTS IN SYDNEY AND NSW

Sydney

  • 24 March – 23 April: Some of Sydney’s most spectacular landmarks will provide the backdrop for a magnificent production of one of the world’s best loved operas, Bizet’s Carmen, when Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour returns.
  • 28 March: The Socceroos take on the United Arab Emirates in the final stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier. Both sides are equal on the table.
  • 30 March – 16 July: Three of Sydney’s premiere cultural institutions – the Art Gallery of NSW, Carriageworks and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia – have established a major new partnership to present a single curated exhibition across the three venues called The National: New Australian Art. Connecting three of Sydney’s key cultural precincts – The Domain, Redfern and Circular Quay – The National: new Australian art is the only large-scale recurring exhibition in the city focused solely on contemporary Australian art.

Regional

  • 27 March – 2 April – Held at Penrith's Sydney 2000 Olympic rowing venue, Australia's largest rowing event the Sydney International Rowing Regatta features a week-long regatta with the world's best rowers competing in over 100 events. This will include the Australian Open Rowing Championships, Australian Open Schools Rowing Championships and the King's and Queen's Cups Interstate Regatta.
