Tickets are still available for the immersive exhibition Connect with Everything by Tatsuo Miyajima – now showing in Sydney.
Showcasing works by one of Japan’s leading artists, the exhibition explores the themes of time and its passage through sculptures and installations using digital counting devices.
Among the highlights is ‘Arrow of Time’ which explores how moments cannot be re-made. To communicate how we live in fleeting moments, Miyajima uses red LEDs to express caution and urgency inside a room-scale installation complete with floor cushions and stars. On-lookers can imagine they are gazing into the galaxy while reflecting upon their planetary significance.
The thought provoking exhibition is the artist’s first large show in Australia and is part of the Sydney International Art Series, secured by Destination NSW.
Connect with Everything is showing at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia until Sunday, 5 March 2017.
