‘MEKONG MOMENTS’ CAMPAIGN VIDEO WINS AWARD AT ITB

The campaign video for the public-private-partnership #MekongMoments social media campaign has won an award at ITB Berlin. Mekong Tourism Executive Director Jens Thraenhart announced the news via a Facebook post, as follows:

We won! Still in testing phase but the @MekongMoments campaign to promote the Greater Mekong Subregion as a single tourism destination and empower any travel operator to run their own social media campaign on the turnkey campaign solution, was recognized at ITB Berlin, the largest travel and tourism fair in the world.

The jury of the prestigious ITB Golden City Gate Video awards recognized the #MekongMoments campaign video for its innovative approach to being able to customize the video for any travel company and to capture the essence and magic of the region in an upbeat approach.

“Beyond the technical quality like editing, the jury focused a lot on the emotional quality of the film and how it inspires to travel . We have looked into how it generated compassion and empathy ” Jury of the “The Golden City Gate Award” after reviewing 121 films from 32 countries

We can’t believe #MekongMoments has won the prestigious Das Goldene Stadttor award otherwise popularly known as tourism Oscars at ITB Berlin.

We were competing with international regions like / in UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Germany, Canada, amongst others and putting the Mekong Region on the global map is very exciting.

Celebrations took place during the Myanmar Tourism Cocktail Reception at ITB Berlin with senior officials from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism Myanmar, the Myanmar Tourism Federation, the Cambodia Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Information Culture and Tourism of Laos, Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO), and CEN International.

HE Minister of Hotels and Tourism Myanmar U Ohm Maung, HE Secretary of State of Cambodia Mr So Mara, and HE Director General of Marketing of Ministry of Information Culture and Tourism of Lao PDR, and HE Minister of Chin State in Myanmar were very pleased about the award.
