SUB ZERO TEMPERATURES AND THE SNOW GUNS ARE FIRING

Mt Buller
Snow continued to fall at Mt Buller last night and as temperatures dipped below zero the snow has been settling across the resort.

Mt Buller’s snowmaking team took advantage of the cold, sub-zero conditions to fire up the snowguns for the first time for the winter and add to the flakes falling from the skies.

General Manager of Buller Ski Lifts Laurie Blampied welcomed the wintery blast and the commencement of snowmaking operations, “This cold snap has arrived right on cue and with more cold temperatures forecast for the coming days it will be great to give the snowguns a good run and start making a snowbase for the winter.”

“Buller Ski Lifts has continued to invest in snowmaking and it’s an important guarantee for our skiers and snowboarders who have the reassurance of more snow to ride on each winter. We’ve put in more guns over on Shakey Knees, Wombat and also Family Run this year so it’s wonderful to see them already on the job today.”

“I like the look of the forecast and am not ruling out the possibility of welcoming guests up here before the official start of the season on the long weekend if this continues,” said Blampied.

The 2016 snow season will officially commence on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend on June 11 with a packed weekend of activities and celebrations.
