Shanghai Tower Skyscraper Opens Viewing Platform and Speedy Elevator

China’s tallest skyscraper, the Shanghai Tower, has opened its viewing platform on the building’s 119th floor, along with a high-speed elevator that travels at more than 50 feet per second.

Second only to Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the nearly 1,900-foot tall tower in Lujiazui in Shanghai’s Pudong city is still undergoing final touches, and will soon be home to offices, shops, residential apartments and a hotel.

For now, visitors can enjoy a speedy ride to the viewing platform to enjoy spectacular views of Shanghai.
