The annual Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival celebrates its 25th event this year, with four days of celebrations starting from May 19.
The event will attract about 1700 people with more than a third travelling from interstate and another third travelling from the rest of South Australia.
The Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival has live performances, workshops, competitions and family art activities across nearly 80 events in more than 40 different venues.
The festival takes place annually, following the Coonawarra vintage, with the aim to promote excellence through the involvement of local, national and international artists.
A key aspect of the program is the John Shaw Neilson Acquisitive Art Prize which encourages artists to submit an entry relating to the work of renowned Penola born poet, John Shaw Neilson.
This year there will be the Big Kids, Little Kids Art Zone which features circus, music and photography workshops for children aged five and above.
The Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival is sponsored by the State Government, through the Community Events Development Fund.

The South East is a stunning region and over the last four years it has continued to attract more and more visitors each year. More than 565,000 people visited in the 12 months to December 2015.
