FIND GLOBETROTTING INSPIRATION AT THE SYDNEY ADVENTURE TRAVEL EXPO THIS WEEKEND

Taking over the Sydney Town Hall November 8th and 9th, the Sydney Adventure Travel Expo returns for its 20th year of inspiration this weekend, with the world's leading travel companies on hand to inspire journey, book tours and show off the best in overseas adventure.

Whether you're looking to find travel inspiration or you are looking to make a dream trip a reality, the Sydney Adventure Travel Expo will be the best place to make sure that your next trip will be unforgettable.

With just days to go until the doors open, organisers are excited to reveal the series of talks scheduled for the weekend, where exhibitors will take the opportunity to show off the travel packages they offer, provide deals exclusive to the Adventure Travel Expo, share their travel stories, answer your questions and highlight different countries around the world.

Event director Tim Lewis has said that these talks are intended to “inspire, excite and inform people” about the different options available to those wanting to embark on a holiday. “We’re excited about the talks as it’s an excellent way for people to learn more about travel. We can’t wait to hear about holiday picks by experts who live and breathe adventure.”

Jeremy Scott, the expo’s Travel ambassador for 2014 will be giving 10 minute talks periodically over the course of the weekend. Attendees of the expo can listen to his inspiring story, and his achievement of cycling nearly 52 000 km across 29 different countries.

Leah McDonald, NSW Sales Manager, ex guide and National team leader from Busabout, will be on hand to discuss experiences in Europe and Asia, from their hop on/hop off network to festival tours, Eastern European treks and their new Asian operations starting in May that will see them travel to Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Joe Olds, Direct Marketing manager for Australia and New Zealand - and European specialist - will represent Intrepid and discuss the cosmopolitan cities brimming with modern delights we can find in Turkey. From archaeological sites filled with ancient splendour to curious landscapes straight out of a storybook and picture-perfect coastlines, Olds will tantalise us with everything you need to know about visiting this captivating country.

China based tour manager William will speak on behalf of SNA Tours, reflecting on his 8 years experience in the industry. He believes "that the key to being a great tour guide is loving the city you live in, and this is essential to making the trip memorable for the travellers in your care. An enjoyable vacation is not just about the destination, it is also about the people you meet along the way, and meeting people from all over the world is the best part of my job."

Adventure Specialist from Gecko Adventures, Ella Benjamin, will present an ultimate guide to all things India, with the full lowdown on tips and advice for travellers hoping to get to this parts of the world. A place that's mind-blowing, mind-expanding, mind-boggling and anything but mind-numbing. From bustling Delhi to the canals of Kerala, the beaches of Goa, the hippies of Jodhpur and the holy Ganges of Varanasi. Oh, and there’s that little place called the Taj Mahal.

Chris Catanzariti, sales representative from G Adventures will move us to South America and Latin America, with a general information session presented with his own experiences, travelling around the beautifully diverse Continent. Take a journey along the Inca Trail, visit the Galapagos Islands and take in everything this incredible region has to offer.

And finally, regional sales managers Sam Pearson & Luke Humphries from STA Travel have a presentation prepared set to inspire travellers of all ages, counting down their top 5 "extraordinary ways to travel", from career breaks to gap years, overseas work opportunities and everything in between. They'll present exclusive STA offers, address some commonly asked questions and give away some spectacular prizes. The main prize is a $1000 STA gift voucher to be won, which can be put towards your next overseas adventure. Simply be at the expo on the weekend, take a selfie and upload it to Adventure Travel Expo’s Facebook page to win.
