Award Winning Style of Cicada Lodge

Cicada Lodge has ended 2014 in style, picking up major industry awards reflecting the incredible achievements of the entire team.

The Lodge won the Unique Accommodation category at the 2014 Tourism Northern Territory Brolga Awards celebrating excellence in tourism. General Manager of the Lodge, Ms Nikki Allison, won the Young Achiever category at those same awards for her continued excellence in service and operational management of the property. And they shone yet again at the Northern Territory Australian Hotels Association Gold Plate Awards winning the Best Hotel category and the Restaurant of the Year

“For Cicada Lodge to be recognised in this fashion after only 18 months of operation is testament to the passion, creativity and hard work of the whole Cicada Lodge team from the joint Nitmiluk Tours and IBA ownership, through to our local operational and business partners and our dedicated on-ground team! It has been an amazing year for us with our success at these awards, the incredible feedback we receive from our guests and the media profile that we have achieved”.

“Cicada Lodge was developed out of a dream to showcase the Nitmiluk region and the culture of our owners, the Jawoyn people; and to bring a new element to tourism in the Top End. In all facets of the operation we strive to achieve and deliver on that promise. These awards show that we are succeeding in delivering on our promise!”, she said.

Cicada Lodge is an Indigenous venture, owned in a joint agreement between Nitmiluk Tours, and Indigenous Business Australia (IBA).
