1834 Hotels, the leading South Australian hotel group formerly marketed as Country Club Hotels & Resorts rebranded in September 2013 in conjunction with the launch of their new website www.1834hotels.com.au, which showcases the network of South Australian hotels that are managed by 1834 Hospitality.
Chief Executive Officer Andrew Bullock says the strategy behind the rebrand was to provide managed properties with an improved online presence and more individual recognition for branded hotels, whilst also providing the opportunity to formalise the management and consultancy arm of the business, 1834 Hospitality.
“As the group has expanded over recent years, we have been managing different hospitality product and consulting to various tourism properties and the previous branding of Country Club Hotels & Resorts wasn't representative of the variety of products that we are managing,” Mr Bullock said.
“Each managed hotel in the 1834 Hotels network received a brand new independent website, with additional presence on the 1834 Hotels main site, plus the introduction of our new corporate Hospitality website which showcases the services we offer to business in the tourism/hospitality industry, with the option to become a managed 1834 Hotels property, or to engage us independently of that brand.”
As a proudly South Australian company, the new name is reflective of its South Australian heritage, with 1834 being chosen because of the year that British Parliament passed the Colonisation Act to allow settlement of a new colony – South Australia.
1834 Hotels currently manage 7 branded hotels, motels and resorts in various locations across South Australia. They are: Adelaide Meridien Hotel & Apartments (North Adelaide), Adelaide Royal Coach (Kent Town), Apartments on George (Norwood), Clare Country Club (Clare), McCracken Country Club (Victor Harbor), Naracoorte Hotel/Motel (Naracoorte) and John Pirie Motor Inn (Port Pire).
Additionally, 1834 Hospitality provide specialist consultancy for small to medium size businesses in the tourism and hospitality sectors, including Franklin Central Apartments (Adelaide) and RSL sub-branches in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
1834 Hotels maintain a focus to ensure their hotels are well-positioned as market leaders in their respective regions, and will consider new growth opportunities to continue to expand the network Australia-wide.
