Great Barrier Reef tourism operators are embracing an 'Eye on the Reef' course on monitoring reef health. Survey workshops and in-water training sessions in Cairns, Port Douglas and the Whitsundays attracted some of the highest participation rates ever.
The data collected in the program assists the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority to better manage and protect the reef with ongoing assistance from industry.
