From 27 October 2026, Jetstar will once again fly direct between Newcastle Airport and Hobart three times a week, making it possible to reach Tasmania's capital in approximately two hours without travelling through Sydney. The seasonal service will operate until 24 April 2027.

THREE DIRECT FLIGHTS A WEEK
Jetstar's Newcastle to Hobart service operates every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in both directions.
The seasonal service runs from 27 October 2026 to 24 April 2027, with a flight time of around two hours. Newcastle Airport describes the direct connection as a faster alternative to travelling to Sydney before flying to Tasmania.
For flights between 27 October 2026 and 27 March 2027, the published schedule has Newcastle departures at 3.40pm, arriving in Hobart at 5.40pm, while return flights depart Hobart at 6.20pm and arrive in Newcastle at 8.25pm. From 30 March to 24 April 2027, the schedule changes to earlier afternoon services.
