Founded by filmmaker George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is dedicated to visual storytelling and myth-making. Its collections span centuries and cultures, bringing together art, film, books, comics and other forms of popular culture.

1. Watch a Film at the Robert Flaherty Theater
The Lucas Museum will feature two theatres where visitors can enjoy films throughout the day. The Robert Flaherty Theater is named after pioneering documentary filmmaker Robert Flaherty and will concentrate on documentary cinema.

Its collections include children's books, comics, magazines, science fiction and fantasy books. While access to the research collections is available to approved researchers by appointment, the library adds another dimension to the museum's exploration of visual culture.
3. Discover the Slavko Vorkapich Theater

Named after filmmaker Slavko Vorkapich, known for his montage sequences and special effects, the theatre will present innovative short films from past and present.
Works associated with Georges Méliès, Man Ray, Walt Disney, Dave and Max Fleischer and Kenneth Anger are among the material represented. Visitors may also have an opportunity to discover early student films made by George Lucas.
4. See the Individual Artist Exhibitions
The Lucas Museum is not solely about film and popular culture. Several opening exhibitions spotlight individual artists and their distinctive approaches to visual storytelling.
Artists represented include Thomas Hart Benton, Frank Frazetta, Jessie Wilcox Smith, Maxfield Parrish, Norman Rockwell and N.C. Wyeth.

5. Explore Comics and Manga Art

The comics gallery includes American favourite Peanuts, underground artist R. Crumb and French masters Mœbius and Philippe Druillet.
The manga gallery celebrates Japanese visual storytelling with works connected with popular series including Astro Boy, Akira and One Piece. It promises to be a highlight for fans of comics, Japanese culture and graphic art.
A New Must-See Los Angeles Attraction
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art offers a fresh perspective on the way stories are created and shared. With its theatres, library and diverse exhibitions, it provides visitors with experiences extending well beyond a traditional art museum.
