Marvel at the winter wonderland at Akita Prefecture's Yokote Snow Festival!

Yokote Snow Festival

Held every February 15 and 16, altars are built in snow chambers and people drink amazake (sweet, fermented rice drink) and grill rice cakes. 

Illuminating in the dark night, the dazzling Kamaura snow huts are not to miss.

You can access the Yokote Kamakura festival by a 10 min walk from Yokote Station on the JR Ou Main Line.
