21 new Master Reef Guides join the club

The seventh cohort of Master Reef Guides have completed their training on Lady Elliot Island. These 21 experts represent top-tier tourism operators from all corners of the Great Barrier Reef.

Their mission? To be the world's best reef guides and storytellers, sharing the marvels of the Great Barrier Reef with visitors to Queensland.

The Master Reef Guide program, a ground-breaking partnership between the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the Association of Marine Park Tourism Operators and Tourism and Events Queensland, is changing the game for tourism on the reef.

With 122 Master Reef Guides spread across the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, from the north's Ribbon Reefs to the south's Lady Elliot Island, these experts are recognised globally for their ability to engage, entertain and educate.

This comes off the back of several outlets across the world this week generating positive PR about the reef, conservation, coral spawning and celebrating the incredible work of tourism operators, researchers and Traditional Owners who have demonstrated their commitment to the health of the reef.
