Toyota City, the host city of WRC* Rally Japan, is famous for its automobile manufacturing industry, but it is also an attractive tourist destination surrounded by rich nature and steeped in ancient traditional culture. (*WRC: World Rally Championship Series)

For instance, Korankei Gorge, which is one of the best places in Japan for autumn foliage, is located in Toyota.

In addition to beautiful green leaves in spring, you can enjoy the great landscape of maple foliage in autumn with 4,000 maple trees along the valley.

During the Maple Festival held in November, the autumn leaves are illuminated after sunset and reflected on the water surface, creating an overwhelmingly magical atmosphere.

As you know, cherry blossoms bloom in spring, but in Toyota-City, you can also enjoy them in autumn! “Shiki-Zakura”—four-seasons cherry blossom—is absolutely rare, even in Japan.

The contrast of the light pink of cherry blossoms and the vivid red of maple leaves gives you a fantastic view.

Hungry? How about trying Gohei-mochi, the local soul food of this area.

This easy-to-eat skewered rice cake with miso and soy sauce is especially popular among tourists.

Visit Toyota City to enjoy its rich natural beauty in autumn and the unique Japanese countryside landscape, as well as Rally Japan.

Toyota City is just one hour from Nagoya by train.
