BASSINTHEGRASS music festival 2024 dates announced - 18 May 2024

BASSINTHEGRASS music festival
In huge news for music lovers across the country, the date of Northern Australia’s biggest music festival has been locked in for next year, with BASSINTHEGRASS set to take place at Darwin’s iconic Mindil Beach on Saturday, 18 May 2024.

There are more reasons to attend than ever before, with exciting new premium experiences on offer to take music lovers’ BASSINTHEGRASS adventure to the next level (including luxury amenities and elevated viewing), and additional performance spaces inspired by the Boiler Room concept for more diverse music genres.

Massive line-up news will be coming soon.

The festival sees music fans enjoy world-class acts across multiple stages under guaranteed blue skies and tropical weather. The unique beachside location, fringed by palm trees, is the perfect spot to soak up a famous Territory sunset as the sun slips into the Arafura Sea.

BASSINTHEGRASS has drawn Australia’s biggest acts to the Top End for more than two decades. In 2023, BASSINTHEGRASS attracted a crowd of almost 14,000 and featured a packed line-up that included Peach PRC, San Cisco, Angus & Julia Stone, The Presets and the Territory’s own Baker Boy.

The must-do event on Australia’s music festival calendar falls just as the winter chill sets in down south, providing the perfect excuse to follow the sun north and enjoy the Top End’s dry season.

BASSINTHEGRASS will headline several days of music in Darwin as the city comes alive for the Territory’s biggest music festival.

Independent research shows more than a quarter of last year’s attendees travelled from interstate to be a part of BASSINTHEGRASS, helping to generate a total expenditure stimulus of $13.1 million for the Territory, of which $8.6 million was new money. Visitors also generated 23,031 visitor nights across the Territory, while BASS-goers gave the event a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 60.4. NPS measures the customer experience, and a NPS above 60 is considered very good.

Showing how popular BASSINTHEGRASS has become, almost 70 per cent of attendees surveyed after the 2023 event said they were very likely to return next year.

Delivered by Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC) on behalf of the Northern Territory Government, BASSINTHEGRASS continues to evolve each year, offering exciting new entertainment for repeat visitors alongside some of the hottest acts around.

“BASSINTHEGRASS is one of our stand-out events and combines incredible artists across multiple stages with a stunning beachside location,” NTMEC CEO Suzana Bishop said.

“It also typically marks the start of our amazing dry season, when there is not a cloud in the sky – perfect festival weather! It’s not hard to see why music lovers flock to Darwin to be a part of BASSINTHEGRASS and enjoy our unique tourism offerings. We can’t wait to deliver another unforgettable music festival in 2024.”

The always eagerly anticipated BASSINTHEGRASS line-up and tickets will drop later this year. To be one of the first to know, sign up for updates at www.bassinthegrass.com.au/
